Where in the World Are You Reading?

Last month, the ladies who host Where in the World Are You Reading? asked about my "unusual" reading spots.  For February, they want to know where I get comfy to read.  That's an easy one.  Ninety percent of my reading gets done right here:
It has everything I need - good lighting, a pillow for my aching back, a place to rest my feet, a spot to sit my coffee, and a cord to charge the Nook, and it isn't TOO comfy.  It doesn't recline and it's not conducive to slouching, so I'm less likely to doze instead of read.  Not to say that never happens, but less than when I try to read in bed or on the couch.

The chair and it's mate belonged to my grandparents in the 1960's and early 70's, and to my in-laws from then till 2012, when they came to live with us, so it has a sentimental, nostalgic comfort that makes it my favorite spot in the world for reading.

  1. I new what to expect! I had pictured you in your favorite nostalgic chair there at Green Acres! You are right - has to be comfy but not toooooo comfy for some productive reading!

  2. I love that your couch has some memories tied to it! One of my favorite reading spots is my bed but I'm more likely to fall asleep while reading there... Ha! Glad you joined us again this month!

  4. I do occasionally take a nap when I'm trying to read because our couch is a bit too comfy.

  5. Perfect! I do curl up in a corner of the sofa but I can't read in bed any more because it does put me to sleep, too.

  7. I love it! Right now I am using a rocker that needs new cushions and it is a back breaker.

  8. I usually read sitting up in bed where I tend to fall asleep. :/ I'm trying to organize our room better though so I have a "cozy corner" with a vintage pink chair situated to where I can look outside the window. We've only just moved so I'm still getting settled and that is a ways from happening. I was a real book sortofagal until I got my Kindle last April for my birthday. I love it. It has rekindled (no pun intended) my love for reading and now if I could just find more time...

I noticed your Mary Jane's Farm button. I'm a new subscriber and toying with the idea of joining the sisterhood. :)

  10. That's a really nice spot! I actually like to recline when I'm reading. But I can see where it would make it easier to get sleepy. I've never had that problem. Yet anyway. ;)
